The HOLIDAYS

Well, I guess it is time for another update. Christmas was amazing. We stayed home christmas morning and opened presents as a family for the first time.  It was fun to be the dad handing out the presents. It made me feel all grown up.  Well, I said feel, not that I actually was grown up. That will probably never happen. Hadley was very excited for all of his gifts. Well, most of them. The clothes were not the biggest hit, but they were cool in their own way. We then made our way over to Jerome, and opened gifts with Grandma Pickett, and Uncle Ronald, Aunt Ashley, Trinity, and Aunt Rachel. It was a little chaotic, but it was still fun. After that, we headed out west to the ranch to party with the Severe family. Everyone was there, and speaking of chaos...I don't think it gets more chaotic that at the Severe house, but that is what makes it fun. All of the kids had fun opening and playing with everyones toys. I helped my dad suprise my mom with diamond earrings, and my brother in law suprise my sister with an anniversary band. It was fun to be able to do that for them.

For New Years Eve, we again ventured out west, and played ROCK BAND on the wii that my brother and his family got for christmas. It was a blast. We laughed so hard, and had a great time. The next morning all the kids went sledding and came back in the house sopping wet. We were able to play with Grandpa Severe's puppies, and eat and eat and eat. That is what the holidays are all about right?

I am very grateful for this holiday season, and the joy that it has brought to our little family. We have been able to feel the Spirit of God in our hearts so much, and we are grateful to all of our friends and family that has been there to help us through this little hurdle.

We have scheduled the 19th for the birth of our little baby boy. They will be doing a C-Section. Cynthia keeps hoping that something will happen before that, but is doubtful. We are anxiously awaiting this new addition to our family, and can't wait for the changes that it will bring.

HADLEY GARRET SEVERE!!!

On Monday December 7, 2009, the judge granted our petition for me to adopt Hadley, and to change his name to Severe. It was an awesome day, and it seemed like it was never going to get here. The process started by having to send out certified letters to make those involved aware of what was to happen in case someone was wanting to contest the adoption. Then we had to publish the legal notice in the paper once a week for three weeks, and then we had to wait 30 days for the court date. While waiting for this day to come Hadley became very exctited about the idea of becoming a Severe. He would write Hadley Severe on all of his papers at school, and everything else he could get his hands on.  There is nothing that can express the joy that we feel right now. The feeling of being a complete family is awesome.  Monday was a very busy day from the court hearing, then on to christmas shopping, we went bowling, and out to dinner. We  are planning on having Hadley sealed to us in the Twin Falls Temple on December 17th. I know that day will be more amazing than anything I have ever been involved in...We are so blessed to have the gospel in our lives, and to know that we can be an eternal family. On a side note, the baby is doing well, and growing more and more everyday.  We can't wait til the day he arrives!!! I hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and gets everything they ask for!!!

MoRe BaBy NeWs

On Monday November 16th, we had our fourth ultrasound.  At Cynthias last appointment the doctor thought that she was measuring a little small and just wanted to make sure that the baby was growing. So we got to take another look inside and see our little boy. It was awesome. The 3d images are amazing. We got to see his little feet and hands, and have a couple good side profile shots of his face. He looks like he already has some pretty big cheeks. We are way excited. The tech said that he weighed approx. 3lbs 2oz. That means that he is a week ahead of where he should be for his weight. So I guess he showed those doctors.
The semester is quickly coming to an end, with Thanksgiving break next week, and then about three more weeks of school, it will be over before we know it. Hadley recieved a reward for perfect attendance for the first part of the school year. He gets a free hamburger from Burger King. He has another tooth loose that will be coming out any day now, and we keep teasing him that he will need dentures for christmas. :) Well, I hope that everyone as a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

UpDaTe At LaSt

Hope that everyone had a Happy Halloween! School is still going strong. I am getting ready to be done with CSI after the winter sememster, so I am working on getting the application process started for Idaho State. Have a meeting with the advisor this week. Cynthia is still holding strong with her classes as well, and getting more pregnant everyday. The baby is moving and kicking and doing all sorts of acrobatics in that built in gymnasium. It will be so exciting when he finally gets here. We have our fourth ultrasound on Nov 16th. The doctor wanted to check and make sure he is growing as he should. At the last appointment, they thought he measured a little small. It will be fun to see him again.  It is amazing what you can see with the technology these days. Hadley is enjoying school, and comes home exhausted everyday. He has lost both his front teeth, and one on the bottom. He has another one on the bottom that is loose, and could come out everyday. If he doesn't stop losing teeth he will have to eat through a straw. We told him to put his two front teeth on his christmas list!! :) !!
